From the Pastor's Pen: Romans 5:2

When we think of God's grace we think of the favor of God. There's nothing we can do to earn God's grace. Salvation is His gift, given in love to us. But does grace stop at the point when we receive Jesus as our Savior? No, His grace flows over our lives every moment, bringing hope and an enormous sense of peace and security.

God's grace is founded in love, love that is not seasonal or temporary. The very love Jesus displayed at Calvary. In the Apsotle of Romans, Paul's letter wants us to have a firm mental picture of God's grace working in our lives. To do this Paul uses the phrase, "this grace in which we stand". Romans 5:2

For every believer, living in God's grace is all consuming. We can't walk away from it. God thinks, responds and views us through the eyes of grace. We live in a sphere of grace, surrounded by His goodness. Through grace we walk in God's favor and through this gift of grace we have access to God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

Have you ever wondered how God views your life? Do you worry that He sees your flaws and mistakes and loves you less? Do not worry! God knows you perfectly and knows you completely just the way you are. You are His masterpiece, His workmanship of grace and love, you are His work.

God continues to paint the colors of your life in such a way that you will glorify Him. The Apostle Paul shares with us, we are God's workmanship created in Jesus Christ for good works, which God prepared before hand, that we should walk in them.

By God's loving grace we are created in the image of Christ. Though our lives remain on the canvas, God has seen the finished portrait. His eternal eyes know exactly where we need His greatest attention. Every frustration, every disappointment, and every joy has a purpose. (Romans 8:28).

God rejoices over you, though. He knows we are not yet what we will be when we step into His eternal presence of God. Until that time, God is patiently molding us and shaping our lives to be more Christ like.
