From the Pastor's Pen     1 Thessalonians 5: 16 - 18

Thank God frequently as we journey through today. The practice makes it possible to pray without ceasing, as the apostle Paul taught. If we are serious about learning to pray continually, the best approach is to thank God in every situation. These prayers of gratitude will provide a solid foundation on which we can build our personal prayer life. Moreover, a grateful attitude makes it easier for us to communicate with God.

When our mind is focused on thanking God, we have no time for worrying or complaining. If we practice thankfulness consistently, negative thought patterns will gradually become non- existent. Draw nearer to God with a grateful heart, and the presence of God will fill you with joy and peace.

Happy Thanksgiving Bethel Family!

In the Midnight Hour Acts 16:25-26

There is something sacred in the midnight hour. It is that thin space of 60 seconds that separates yesterday from a new day. "Midnight", the cusp that brings the promise of fresh possibilities, is a time of change. While we are sleep, midnight quietly buries yesterday's disappointments and birth's new beginnings.

God moves at midnight. There is power at midnight, breakthroughs come in the midnight hour, deliverance comes in the midnight hour. Moses knew this when at midnight, God struck down Egypt's first born. In Psalms 119, the Psalmist rose in His distress at midnight; Paul and Silas prayed and sang unto the Lord, and the chains were broken. And it will be the midnight hour that Bridegroom himself has promised to return.

In the quiet moments of the new day, beckoned out of sleep, arise to partake in this sacred stillness. Forego the comfort of the bed and surrender to the gentle nudge of the Holy Spirit. Though darkness engulfs night, midnight is the dawn of a new day. Rise to embrace the midnights of your soul with joy, with praise, with prayer.

Let us pray: Almighty God, help Your Church to embrace the midnights of our soul as a time of renewal that ushers in change through Christ, Jesus our Lord. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Stop Trying to Work Things Out!

Everybody in this life tries or is trying to work things out for the better. Has anyone ever thought about why some of the thing that you're trying to work out are not working in your favor. Could it be that we have not accepted the limitations of living one day at a time?

When something comes to our attention, then ask God whether or not it's a part of today's agenda. If not then release your agenda into the hands of God and go about completing today's responsibilities. When we follow this practice there will be peace in your life and time for everything and everything in its time.

A life lived closed to God is not complicated or cluttered. When your focus is on the presence of God, many things that once troubled you will lose their power over you. Though the world around is messy and confusing, remember that I have overcome the world. I have told you these things, so that in God you may have peace.

From The Pastor's Pen: Trust in God

Bethel Church Family, Pastor Chambers would like to encourage everyone to Strive to Trust God More and More in every area of our lives. Anything that tends to make you anxious is a growth opportunity. Instead of running away from these challenges, embrace them, eager to gain all the blessings.

Being that we believe that God is Sovereign over every aspect of our lives, it is possible for us to trust God in every situation. Don't waste energy regretting the way things are or thinking about what might have been. Start in the present moment - accepting things exactly as they are and search for Gods way in the midst of those circumstances.

Trust is like a staff that you can lean on as you journey uphill with Me. If we are trusting God consistently, the staff will bear as much of your (our) weight as needed. Lean on, Trust, and be confident in God with all your (our) heart and mind.

Pray with Power and Authority

1/20/2016

Prayer is the act of communicating with God, and its not always verbal. When you pray you should pray with power and authority. How do you pray with power and Authority? We pray with power and authority by using the word of God. The model prayer for believers is found in the gospel of Matthew 6:13 and Luke 11:1-4, known as the Lord's Prayer.

As many Christian and Believers begin this Lenten season journey. Ash Wednesday is February 10th, Ash Wednesday begins the Lenten season.

We want to encourage everyone to pray this season with us.

From The Pastor's Pen: A New Beginning Psalms 34:17-22

New Beginnings in 2016, We can achieve the victorious life through living in deep dependence on God.

People usually associate victory with success: not failing or stumbling, not making mistakes. But those who are successful in their own strength tend to go their own way, and forgetting God. It's through our problems and failure, weaknesses and neediness, that we learn to rely on God.

True dependence is not simply asking God to bless us what you or i have done or decided to do. It is coming to God with an open mind and heart, inviting God to plant His desires, His plans for our lives within you. God may infuse within you and us dreams that seems so far beyond our reach. You know in yourself we cannot achieve such a goal.

That begins our journey of profound reliance of God . It is a faith walk, taking one step at a time, leaning and trusting in God continually. However each, each stumble is followed by a growth spurt, nourished by increased love and dependence on God. Enjoy the New beginnings on Life deepening yours and our dependence on God.

From the Pastor's Pen: 1Corinthian 13v.

1Corinthian 13v. "And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

We recognize that Jesus demonstrated sacrificial love for us by dying for our sins, making possible our forgiveness and restoring us to fellowship with the Father. Yet we often fail to realize that Christ's love goes even beyond the cross.

Everything we do, don't do, face, and don't face is touched by God's continuing love. Everything about us hinges on love because of God, who is love, created us in His image (1John 4:8, 16). Because God loves, he gives us blessings and allows us to share them. When we pray and are told to wait, it's because He loves us and knows we need time to grow.

When we have choices that can be overwhelming our God shows us that we need to depend on His guiding love. Until we come to understand and believe at our deepest, innermost level that God is love, we will struggle with trusting Him, yielding to Him, and serving Him wholeheartedly.

While we are to live in faith and hope, our most important dwelling place is God's Love!!

God's kingdom is invited into our lives in a powerful way every time we lift up praise and worship to Him. Our worship demonstrates our love for Him and opens the way for Him to work powerfully in our lives to transform us and our impossible situations. That's why it's God's will that we give thanks and praise to Him in every situation. When we don't do that, we shut off possibilities for great things God wants to do in our lives.

There have been countless times in my life, as a believer, where I prayed and prayed about a problem; praising God that He cared about a particular situation and He was greater than what I was facing. But there came a time when God instructed my heart that I was to continue praising Him no matter what did or did not happen. I was to trust that He had the answer to what was needed and the power to change things, and His timing and judgment were perfect. I took that stance to trust in Him until breakthrough finally came.

Worship always establishes an atmosphere in which God moves powerfully.

From the Pastor's Pen: Romans 5:2

When we think of God's grace we think of the favor of God. There's nothing we can do to earn God's grace. Salvation is His gift, given in love to us. But does grace stop at the point when we receive Jesus as our Savior? No, His grace flows over our lives every moment, bringing hope and an enormous sense of peace and security.

God's grace is founded in love, love that is not seasonal or temporary. The very love Jesus displayed at Calvary. In the Apsotle of Romans, Paul's letter wants us to have a firm mental picture of God's grace working in our lives. To do this Paul uses the phrase, "this grace in which we stand". Romans 5:2

For every believer, living in God's grace is all consuming. We can't walk away from it. God thinks, responds and views us through the eyes of grace. We live in a sphere of grace, surrounded by His goodness. Through grace we walk in God's favor and through this gift of grace we have access to God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
